Basic Box Truck Insurance Coverage
BASIC BOX TRUCK INSURANCE COVERAGE
Depending on whether you own your own box truck and carry your own goods or you’re a for-hire trucker, you may require different types of box truck insurance coverage options. For example, you may need to purchase a basic box truck insurance coverage like Liability insurance if you’re a private carrier. It can cover injuries or damage to people or property if you’re at fault in an accident. We also provide Physical Damage Coverage that protects your vehicle if it is damaged in an accident.
If you’re a for-hire trucker and your Primary Liability insurance is provided by your motor carrier, you may only need to purchase a certain type of box truck insurance coverage, including Motor Truck Cargo insurance, to protect the goods you’re hauling. Or, Non-Trucking Liability insurance to protect your truck when you aren’t under dispatch. See definitions below.
This is the most common form of state-required auto insurance. Liability insurance is made up of two types of coverages:
This coverage will help cover costs related to injuries suffered by others as a result of an accident caused by you or your employees.
This coverage will cover costs associated with damage to other people’s property in an accident caused by you or your employees.
This will help provide a financial safety net in case your cargo is damaged during transportation.
This coverage will help pay for repairs or replacement of your box truck if it is damaged in an accident.
This coverage will help pay for repairs or replacement of your box truck if it is damaged in a non-collision incident (e.g., fire, theft, vandalism).
If you are a for-hire driver, you may need this insurance to help cover liability-related costs if you cause an accident in your box truck while you are not on dispatch.
